The definitive collection of Canadian books, government documents, think tank publications, and primary sources, all cross-searchable on one powerful platform
Canada Commons is a project to preserve and disseminate Canadian knowledge and culture.
Since its launch in 2021, the Coherent-Trojman partnership has expanded Canada Commons to include over a million government documents, hundreds of thousands of think-tank publications, tens of thousands of books, and hundreds of thousands of pages of primary-source historical and cultural content. Canada Commons is continually growing.
Through ongoing local digitization initiatives and collaborations with Canadian content partners, Coherent and Trojman continue to preserve and enhance access to Canada’s scholarly and cultural record—ensuring that Canada Commons remains a Canadian project at heart.
Books, government documents, think tank reports, and historical newspapers and magazines — Canadian sources that normally live across dozens of disconnected sites, brought together in one searchable platform.
Full-text search, Boolean and proximity operators, wildcard truncation, and dozens of filters get you to the exact passage in minutes. We also surface what others lose — defunct sites, withdrawn reports, and exclusive digitized backfiles.
New documents arrive every week, with follow-alerts on organizations, people, topics, and saved searches. Users can also upload their own work — we enrich, index, and publish it through Google Scholar within days.
Five frictionless options including IP recognition, Shibboleth, OpenAthens, EZproxy, HAN.
