André Avorio (he/him/his)
Chief Product Officer

André is a digital innovator specializing in online collaboration and open platforms. Working at the intersection of business strategy, digital technologies, and user experience, he’s led digital transformation and product development projects in Brazil, the US, and the UK. He’s a graduate of the University of Oxford’s Internet Institute and lives in Brazil.

Susan Buczkowski (she/her/hers) 
Sales Director

Since receiving her MLIS in 2005, Susan has spent the majority of her library-land career supporting academic libraries with building their collections of important primary source materials in the arts, humanities and social sciences by listening to librarians and constant learning.  Prior to joining Coherent Digital, she held sales positions at CQ Press, Alexander Street, and ProQuest.  In addition to being passionate about libraries, Susan is an avid reader, a music enthusiast of multiple genres and a life-long student of diverse cultures and viewpoints. 

Gareth Bish (he/him/his)
Regional Sales Manager, UK and Ireland

Gareth has extensive experience in the library information sector working with faculty and academic libraries in the UK and Ireland. Starting as a graduate tutor in humanities and social sciences at the University of Sussex, his career includes working with academic publishers such as Gale/Cengage, Alexander Street Press, ProQuest and John Wiley & Sons. He is passionate about content and technology solutions that make a difference for learning and research. Based in West Berkshire, UK, he is a proud father, enjoys acoustic guitar, and is an award-winning songwriter.

Peter Ciuffetti (he/him/his)
Chief Technology Officer

In a career spanning more than 35 years, Pete has held senior technical positions at seven different information providers, most of them start-ups or early-stage companies. He speaks at industry events on the use of machine learning in electronic publishing. Pete advocates for accessibility in multimedia, which means confronting new challenges as Coherent Digital contributes virtual-reality experiences to academic teaching and learning.

Genevieve Croteau (she/her/hers)
Chief Operating Officer

Genevieve has more than ten years of leadership experience across the media and journalism industries. She’s held roles developing and growing new business as well as heading operations and progressive HR departments. Her career path has always been driven by the same fundamental purpose: making creative companies bigger, better, and stronger places for the people who work for them and the clients they serve.

Adam Gardner (he/him/his)
Sales Director, EMEA

In his 20-year career in the information industry, Adam has worked in libraries, publishers and aggregators on content types ranging from research monographs to databases, primary sources and audio/visual material. He’s worked in senior commercial roles, most recently as Global Commercial Director for an academic book publisher, and was the General Manager in Europe for Alexander Street Press. He served on the Board of Trustees of UKSG for five years. A graduate of Cambridge University, he now lives near Oxford in England with his family

Heather Dray (she/her/hers)
Director, Outreach and Engagement

Heather has been serving libraries and their stakeholders for more than 20 years. Prior to joining Coherent, she served in roles including Director of Library and Information Resources at American InterContinental University Atlanta, Director of Educational Services at LYRASIS, and Associate Director of Library Relations and Faculty Outreach at SAGE Publishing. Heather is a proud Atlantan, sometime artist, and fulltime mom to her rescuers, pocket-Pitbull Izabel “Izzy” Louise and Heinz 57 Dashiell “Dash” Hammett.

Toby Green (he/him/his)
Publisher

Toby has spent 35 years in scholarly publishing working with commercial, society, IGO and NGO organizations on all types of content (which he prefers to call “stuff”)—books, journals, data, grey literature, A&I services, and encyclopedias—always with an eye on the reader experience and building audience. His last position was Chief Operating Officer at the OECD. He’s a regular speaker at SSP, ALPSP, OASPA, Fiesole, R2R, and the Frankfurt Book Fair. In 2019 he cofounded Coherent Digital. Toby currently lives in the French countryside.

Sara Gibney (she/her/hers)
Production Manager

During the past 20 years, Sara has been working with metadata, building taxonomies, & helping companies migrate data from the production standpoint. Since 2006, she has worked with companies such as Alexander Street Press, ProQuest, and Cape School as a Content Supervisor and a Curriculum Development Specialist. She is passionate about working with cross-functional teams to help streamline data and facilitate ease of access for the end-user. Sara is a graduate of Mary Baldwin University with a degree in Psychology.

Steve Ketchum (he/him/his)
Director of Finance

Steve has over 30 years experience in a wide range of finance activities. He was Director of Finance at Alexander Street Press and led the team there. He’s experienced with acquisitions and is used to a working in hands-on, high growth environments.

Eileen Lawrence (she/her/hers)
VP of Sales/Chief Inspiration Officer

Eileen has worked with libraries since 1980. In 1997, she became Sales VP of Chadwyck-Healey, Inc., and in 2000 was cofounder and Sales VP of Alexander Street Press, with the mission of making silent voices heard. She believes in social change through education and in the power of the arts to heal. Eileen serves on the nonprofit boards of L.A. Theatre Works and A Musical Heart.

Bob Lester (he/him/his)
Accessible Archives/History Editor

Bob has more than 40 years of experience in publishing with a variety of companies, including University Publications of America, Congressional Information Service-UPA, LexisNexis and Gale Cengage.  He began as an indexer but has become expert in historical collections and archives worldwide.  He joins Coherent from Accessible Archives.

Yoomna Rahim (she/her/hers)
Product Engagement Manager

Yoomna’s previous position was with the Urban Alliance, where she performed a variety of tasks including program management and event planning. With academic training in political science and sociology, she’s passionate about using evidence-based approaches to fuel social change and cultivate diverse talent. She’s a graduate of University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Stephen Rhind-Tutt (he/him/his)
President

Stephen has 30 years’ experience in electronic publishing and libraries, with leadership roles at SilverPlatter Information, Chadwyck-Healey, Gale, Alexander Street, and ProQuest. He’s served on the boards of CLIR, the Digital Library Federation, Enwoven, and the University of California Press. In 2000 he cofounded and led Alexander Street Press to become an internationally recognized publisher and the largest vendor of streaming media into libraries.  In 2019, he cofounded Coherent Digital. In his spare time, Stephen is a genealogist—researching that rather strange last name!

Elizabeth Robey (she/her/hers)
Publisher

Elizabeth has worked in academic publishing since 2000, most recently for Alexander Street and ProQuest.  Her primary focus has been in the fields of counseling and social work, where she’s spent the last 20 years building relationships with faculty and organizations, translating their expertise into hands-on training materials. Elizabeth is the editor of many recognized databases, including the Counseling and Therapy in Video Series; Psychotherapy Transcripts, Client Narratives, and Reference Works; and Social Work Online.

Lenny Rogers (he/him/his), Senior Director, University Partnerships & Sales

Lenny has been building relationships with libraries and faculty since 2007, with executive sales experience in academic publishing, higher-education, and technology. Prior to joining Coherent Digital, he led sales teams and implemented strategies for publishers of political and social sciences, arts and humanities, and primary sources.   When he’s not working, Lenny is passionate about his home town of Denver, the city’s food scene, and introducing his daughters to his favorite films and music.

Julie Stevens (she/her/hers)
Director, APAC

Julie joins Coherent with over 30 years of experience in the library and information field. She started school aspiring to work in libraries, but she soon found her calling on the publishing side. She loves bridging the gap between publishers and librarians, helping to build new products that fulfill the genuine needs of her customers.

 Shashank Pratap Singh (he/him/his)
Sales Director (South Asia)

Shashank has worked closely with academic and government libraries for fourteen years, listening, providing support, and advocating for their needs. Prior to joining Coherent Digital, he worked across South Asia with LexisNexis in business development . Before that, he was at ProQuest, CBS, SAGE and iGroup. He has experience working with primary publishers, aggregators, and vendors. He enjoys learning new cultures, meeting people, and understanding all types of libraries, especially primary sources and archives. He lives near Delhi with his wife and two children.

Jenni Wilson (she/her/hers)
Sales Director

Jenni has been navigating the library world since receiving her MLIS in 1992. Most of her experience has been working in the higher-education market, helping libraries to build comprehensive collections that include databases, primary sources, and ebooks across all major disciplines. Prior to joining Coherent Digital, she most recently has spent time at ProQuest, SAGE and Alexander Street Press, traveling across North America and meeting many amazing librarians along the way. Jenni lives with her husband in Chicago where they are lucky to have access to the world’s best music, the greatest lake, and wonderful food, all of which make her happy.

Board Chair

John has had a long and distinguished career in university administration at Cambridge University and then at Imperial College London. He’s been a consultant and a non-executive director at a number of organizations including Chadwyck-Healey, 3i PLC, Proquest, Elsevier, and the English National Opera.

Christian Dupont (he/him/his)
Strategic Advisor

Christian has more than 25 years of administrative and curatorial experience at top-tier academic libraries. Along the way, he joined Atlas Systems and created Aeon, the first workflow management software for special collections. From its inception, Christian has advised Coherent on platform architecture. A book collector with a PhD in philosophy and ongoing publication profile, Christian is zealously engaged with taming wild content and deriving meaning and enjoyment from it.
