Public Health and Social Care

Hard-to-find materials from the front lines of health-care and social-care providers, researchers, and organizations.

undefined

Frontline health providers, hospital systems, foundations, patient groups, practitioner communities, governments, think tanks, and other organizations produce research, pilot projects, real-world evaluations, newsletters, and collaborative projects.

Public Health and Social Care brings this wealth of information together, updates it daily, adds search tools and unique identifiers—and preserves the material for future reference.

Practical content that isn't found in traditional databases

Our focus is outside of journals, books, and formal publications. We’re also not aiming for conference proceedings, data sets, or dissertations. Instead, we’re focused on materials such as:

  • Research studies and reports

  • Case reports and case series

  • Performance data

  • Guidelines and manuals

  • Community health needs and impact assessments

  • Blogs and social media

  • Protocol and methodology papers

  • Health education and promotional literature

  • Policy and positioning statements

  • Newsletters and blogs

  • Disease surveillance reporting

  • Health technology assessments

Global reach, custom coverage, and special archives

We focus on producers of English-language material and include other organizations on request. We create special preservation archives of topical content. A newly created “COVID-19 and Other Emergent Diseases” archive preserves details of the COVID-19, H1N1, and ZIKA emergencies with 150,000 studies, impact statements, and other items, so that lessons learned are not lost.

Grows evidence, ensures diversity

Public Health and Social Care provides access to pilot projects, real-world assessments, evaluations of interventions, and collaborative projects. It gives researchers information about the vulnerable and aging; people with learning, physical, or sensory difficulties; caregivers; indigenous peoples; non-white populations; the LGBTQ+ community; and immigrants.

Fills knowledge gaps, informs decision-making, traces impact

The database publishes the latest research, innovations, and best practices long before they appear in journals, including updates appearing in newsletters, funding reports, and other sources. Organizations can trace their impact and measure how often they're mentioned in this literature.
