Senate House Library, University of London, Acquires Access to Full Catalogue of Coherent Digital Online Resources
March 11, 2026—London—Coherent Digital is delighted to announce that Senate House Library, University of London, has acquired Coherent’s full catalogue of primary sources and grey literature covering global history and cultures.
This is the culmination of an in-depth consultation process as part of Senate House’s Library Transformation Project, in which Coherent Digital resources received top ranking by members across all regional subject categories. The results of the ranking reflected confidence in the strength of Coherent’s publishing programme covering global research interests.
Millions of new resources are now available to researchers with immediate effect:
Africa Commons, comprising six collections, a 300,000-page archive, coverage of 575,000 sites from 4,000 organisations, and more than 200 films;
Applied Science Commons, including ownership of a 150,000-item archive and more than 250 videos and VR experiences covering mental health and applied psychology;
Canadian History and Culture, comprising three modules covering 1925–1989, with 200,000 pages of rare, newly digitized resources, on the Canada Commons platform;
History Commons, including the Europe collections, North America collections, and the Social Justice and Culture series, with more than 2 million pages of digitized material from The National Archives; ninety full-run US newspapers in excess of 1 million fully rekeyed pages covering the nineteenth to the mid-twentieth centuries; and a 600,000-page archive of global social justice resources, covering 3,000 organisations;
Latin America Commons, with a 50,000-page archive, coverage of 250 sites, and access to a further 250,000 items;
Policy Commons, with coverage of 40,000 organisations (think tanks, NGOs, IGOs, research organisations, and others), an archive of more than 11 million publications, and access to 20 million items;
Sabinet Complete, with 445,000 articles from 570 peer-reviewed African journals, an archive of 600,000 African news items, and an archive covering South African government, labour, and law; and
South Asia Commons, including 4 million items of archival content from the South Asia Research Foundation, coverage of 400 sites, and access to more than 550,000 items of South Asian history and culture.
