Coherent Digital signs Jisc agreement: Policy Commons, Applied Science, Impact
Following Coherent’s positive consultation with Jisc, the tens of millions of indexed grey outputs - items that are typically not published in books or journals - are now available to UK HE institutions on special terms.
The agreement with Jisc enables access to the following resources and services from Coherent Digital:
Applied Science Commons, with coverage of 13,000 organisations (allied health, corporations, tech companies, foundations, and more)
Policy Commons, with coverage of 40,000 organisations (think tanks, NGOs, IGOs, research organisations, and others) and access to more than 35 million items
Coherent Impact, a service offering additional tools for in-depth analysis, reporting, and demonstration of an organization’s or author’s influence, including citations, mentions, and related impact measures
Jisc members subscribing to the agreement now have access to millions of resources, carefully curated, indexed, and archived to enable research. Additionally, with Coherent Impact, institutions will be able to measure their global real-world influence.
The agreement offers new, exceptional value to assist HE institutions across the board:
Restructured pricing to support smaller institutions
Price reductions in most scenarios for all Jisc bands
More refined pricing across bands, including 5A and 5B differentiation
Special-offer pricing for three years for the full Coherent Impact package, which includes all twelve modules of Coherent’s Policy Commons and Applied Science Commons
Gareth Bish, Sales Director for Coherent Digital, said, “We are delighted to extend an already popular agreement with Jisc. Working with Jisc enables us together to provide cross-disciplinary support for the humanities, social sciences, health and science fields, and other disciplines. We especially appreciate Jisc’s enthusiasm for our development of new impact tools.
“Through our partnership, we support comprehensive research and more robust systematic literature reviews. We also enable scholars to showcase and measure their broader real-world impact, strengthening REF2029 submissions and advancing strategic world-ranking goals.”
Anna Vernon, Head of Research, Licensing for Jisc said, “Jisc aims to help our members and researchers, evidence, understand and amplify the real‑world influence of their research. By bringing Policy Commons, Applied Science Commons and Coherent Impact together, we aim to enable members to track engagement, demonstrate impact, and better align research activity with institutional and national priorities.”
